Hohenfels Germany Community Bazaar

I recently donated one of my new Christmas sessions to the Hohenfels Community and Spouses Club (HCSC) for their Community Bazaar. It was part of a silent raffle. Most items donated were baskets that were filled with goodies. The team my husband is on here donated a basket and everyone from the team was welcomed to donate something to it, theme 'around Germany.' I donated a bottle of wine for that one. The basket's value was $250 and I saw it sold for $200!
There must have been at least a dozen baskets and other items (one donation was 3 cases of German beer, you know the kind that comes in the plastic cases!) It is a great way to support our local HCSC. In turn the money goes completely back into our community in the form of scholarships for students of spouses!

The Bazaar was wonderful with lots of great vendors! Belgium Chocolates, Drindls, Lederhosen, wooden toys, cuckoo clocks, antiks, ornate furniture, cheese, wines. Of course the Polish Pottery guy was there! And I bought a beautiful little tea set off him for Christmas for my daughter! I'm so excited for her to get the little heirloom souvenir! But I did most of my pottery shopping from the Ways & Means organization! They are the fundraising section of the HCSC and they have the lucky task of going to flohmarkts and such and shopping for items to resell. Well they had some nice pottery there for great prices! And some was from last year's bazaar that hadn't sold so they marked it way down. Lucky me! =) I learned that the Ways & Means sells their goods at the monthly spouse's luncheons... oh just another reason to go! Now.. where do I sign up to do the shopping for them? Spending someone else's money is always fun! =)

Of course joining the HCSC isn't only about shopping and luncheons, or the other bonuses like free child care while you volunteer or the card that gets you 1/2 off thrift store items (heehee) but it is about community, giving back, and the greater good! All of the proceeds from the Silent Auction are used by the HCSC to support our community through welfare grants to private organizations and college scholarships.

So I was happy to donate! And I'm happy to learn my session raised the HCSC $150!!!! WOO HOO! Thank you to Angela Hamilton! The session was the Mistletoe Christmas session and included a session, christmas cards and 8x10 print AND a high res digital image! A $175 value! =)

I also volunteered two out of the three days in the Hospitality Room which has donated food for the vendors and volunteers. Everyone who volunteered was amazing! The food was great to keep everyone going, vendors and volunteers alike. Everyone did so much work! Everything looked wonderful and I know everyone was exhausted by the end of it. I tip my hat to all the volunteers. Especially the ones who were there since Wednesday putting down the tape, Thursday setting up and making everything run smoothly Friday Saturday and Sunday and then having to break down Sunday night.

I'm looking forward to the next one and hoping you can count on me to donate again as well as put in some more volunteer hours!

That being said.. I'm coming to all the luncheons from now on so I can shop... err help =)

If you are interested in becoming a member of the HCSC or becoming a board member (their website shows there are some openings) please check out their website or facebook page!

You remember the Lollipop Kin? Well here's the Breze Kin! These kids did a FANTASTIC job walking around selling pretzels raising money for the community!!

Cole Patton? Or Adelaide Paige?

Susannah is a friend of mine I met on a community page before I moved to Germany.
We are both military wives and our husbands were reporting to Germany in June 2011 and both of us got here September 2011. So she was my first friend here =)Come January 2012 Susannah and her husband learned they were expecting! Now Susannah is very creative and came up with a great idea as a countdown to D day (Due Date that is). She found this great HUGE ornate frame for 10 euros at a flohmarkt, she put a board in it that she painted w/ chalkboard paint and weekly has been uploading an image to her facebook page of it with her and her growing belly standing next to the frame. Written on the chalkboard frame was her gestation week as well as any relevant information for that week. Each week the picture was taken in a different location as well to signify things like spring, summer, the due date (pic taken next to crib) etc.
Now the fun part about all of this is Susannah and her husband have decided to be surprised by the baby's gender! Well, the rest of us got to know... (which is helpful for us so we could get them gender specific gifts) but for Susannah and her husband it's a surprise!
I had the honorable task of finding a coming home outfit for their little miracle that was gender is specific. I can't wait to see their baby in it! At our photo session Susannah and her husband covered their eyes w/ their hand while holding up the outfit I provided. You do not see that image posted here... because the little darling is over a week past the due date! We are at D+9 and counting! But do note the image of the measuring tape in both colors! Just in case!!
Susannah opted for two maternity sessions, one in which we focused solely on her and took some gorgeous feminine shots and one with her husband present. The day of her session with husband it decided to downpour! Well, that didn't stop brave Susannah from getting her photos taken! As soon as there was a calm we ran out and enjoyed ourselves!
Who says rain is a bad thing for a photo session???

Please keep all three of them in your prayers as the Delivery date approaches for Adelaide Paige or Cole Patton.

Amelia Returns for her Milestone 6 mo. Session

Lucky me! I got to have beautiful little Amelia back in my studio! I was able to capture some newborn images of her with her family back in February. Unfortunately I was out of the country for her 3mo. milestone session but she was back for her 6mo. session! I can't wait for 9mo. and 1 year to watch her grow and capture this sweet little girl over and over again for her family's memories! Check out how cute she is posing here with her big brother Logan =)

Newborn

Welcome Baby 'Bean.'

Lima Bean' or just 'bean' is the endearing nickname given to this handsome li'l man!
I thought his nickname was cute... then I met him! Check out how cute and adorable he is!
After such an amazing maternity session with his mommy, I was very excited to capture these newborn images of him.
The presentation/ordering session went a little over but for good reason. I was having a great conversation with a wonderful new mommy about everything from future photo ideas to terrible two's (as my toddler is in!) And we had two sessions to go over! Since her little blessing came into this world not long after we shot her maternity photos we decided to wait until after the newborn session to finalize everything.
The maternity images were done outdoors in the dwindling warmer weather. It was actually very chilly out and she was such a sport about it! I have to admit I was more bundled than she was!
The newborn session was all done 'on location' and using only natural light. This is a prime example of what I offer as a photographer; Lifestyle Photography and Studio images!
I am humbled that I was then welcomed into their home to capture those amazing and tender moments in the beginnings of new life! I was honored to be behind the scenes with this family and their new little gift of love!
I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed capturing them!
Thank you Julia for investing in your family's memories, your legacy, through Hohenfels Fotografie!
Welcome to the world, Bean. You're in good hands!
And congratulations to your parents!
What a beautiful journey that awaits you all!

Dad's and Mom's hands together!
